About the animal
Known as the fastest land animal, cheetahs (
猎豹
) can burst to an extraordinary 110 km/h when chasing their preys (
猎物
). But with ongoing and increasing threats from habitat loss, there are less than 10,000 mature individuals left in the wild. And this creature, wearing a naturally-spotted coat like leopards (
花豹
), has declined in the global population, particularly across western, central and northern Africa.
About the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre
As a non-profit organisation, the centre is established in 1971 by Ann. Since we do not receive any government funding, we depend heavily on public support from tours, adoptions, and donations to continue with the work that we do.
To fund conservation (
保护
) projects and keep the cheetahs living in our range fed, happy and healthy, we are glad and grateful to receive any form of help. Every little help from your guests means everything to us in protecting the cheetah species better.
Would you like to adopt a wild child?
You and your family can take a special interest in one of the centre’ s animals by adopting one or more of them. Your donations to us go far beyond what the public eye sees. All funds from the adoption program go towards the general medical expenses and food for all our animals. The list below are some details about the adoption.
