The prize accepts novels in any type of adult fiction. Writers can enter by submitting ( 提交 ) the first 10,000 words and a summary. The judging team, chaired by Kate Mosse, will include expert judges. The prize is open to women aged 18+ who are unagented and writing in English. You don’t need a finished novel to enter, just a novel that has been started. The prize is free to enter and seeks work with potential, not necessarily polished drafts. Writers who have previously entered and continued working on their stories are encouraged to apply. Submissions are open from 19 September 2024 to 13 January 2025. The longlist and shortlist will be announced in spring 2025, with the winner revealed on 29 May 2025. The First Prize winner will receive representation by Curtis Brown Literary Agency and £5,000. One promising writer, the “Discoveries Scholar”, will also win a scholarship for the Writing Your Novel course with Curtis Brown Creative (worth £1,800). All six shortlisted authors will meet with a Curtis Brown agent, get a free place on a six-week online writing course, and participate in a workshop with Audible on writing and recording for sound.
